The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the important festivals in Chinese tradition. It is usually celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. It symbolizes reunion and Thanksgiving, also known as the Reunion Festival. Family and friends will gather together to celebrate and enjoy a rich dinner and also gather outdoors to admire the full moon, enjoying its fullness and brightness. Some places will also hold various forms of moon watching activities, such as poetry recitation, lantern exhibitions and lion dance performances, adding to the festive atmosphere.
